In the end, it was Chuck Speer who was the last one standing Monday morning.
Speer, the Conway Christian School athletic director and football coach, won this year's Stuck on a Truck competition at Toad Suck Daze. His was the second-longest time in the event's nine-year history, with a time of 92 hours and 42 minutes.
However, at one point during the competition, the 36 year-old Speer had decided he'd had enough.
"There was a point, I think it was early, early Sunday morning, around 5 or 6 (o'clock), and he came for his break and he sat down and he looked at us and said 'I've had enough, I've had enough; I can't stand it,'" said Conway Christian School 11th-grader and Eagles linebacker/tight end Jonathan Watson. And that brings an official end to this year's Toad Suck Daze.
"We said 'Coach, you can do it.' He sat there and though about it while everybody was changing his socks and his shoes and he said, 'You're right, I can do this.' He kind of doubted himself, but he knew that with all these people standing around him and supporting him that if he'd gone this far he could go the rest of the way as well.
"In football, or even at school, he's always telling us that if you set your mind to something, you can overcome it," Watson also said. "It definitely showed a great example of that." Read the article here.
See you next year!

I can't imagine doing this. What a great team he had cheering him on. I'm very impressed. He did a fine job and certainly earned this cool truck for his wife.
Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. :)
