#18 Ranked East Carolina Takes On N.C. State
No. 16 East Carolina (21-5) travels to Raleigh, N.C. tonight to take on in-state rival N.C. State (15-12) at Doak Field. SEBaseball.com says its one of the best rivalries in the south.
Having made several road trips while in college to watch East Carolina play baseball, I only wish I could be there tonight. It ought to be a great game and the atmosphere will be electric. ECU should kick arse and make the wolfpuppies from the ACC cry and run to mommy.
After a 4-1 week, the Pirates rose in the national polls. East Carolina was 16th in the Baseball America poll and in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association rankings, 17th in the PING poll, 18th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll and 29th in the rankings by Collegiate Baseball.
Two more strong weeks and the Pirates might find themselves in the Top 10 in those same polls.
GO PIRATES!
