Snowzilla
Meet Snowzilla, 25 foot tall snowman in front lawn of Billy Powers.
With the help of his seven kids, who collected snow from neighbors' yards, Powers has created this snowman on steroids for the last three years.
"Have you seen him?" Powers asked when reached by telephone at his home, the sound of excited children in the background. "He's handsome."
However, not everybody in the neighborhood liked all the cars and visitors who came to see Snowzilla. So Anchorage, Alaska city officials have issued a cease and desist order on the building of the icy beast.
I would be absolutely thrilled out of my mind if one of my neighbors built something like this! I mean, anybody can throw up a few Christmas lights in their front yard. Where else can you see a giant snowman? Yet because of a few neighborhood scrooges, it all has to come down.
What do you think? Would you want a giant snowman like this in your neighborhood? Does the city of Anchorage have the right to tell Billy Powers what he can temporarily build in his front lawn?
Bah humbug!

Paul and Laura,
If you have an extra huge snowman laying around, I sure could use one! I like him!
Happy Holidays to you all!
Would have been nice to have the snow to do that with here in Arkansas... Willy thinks.
For a few days maybe.

I read about this on the internet. Snowzilla has been getting larger every year and the city council has had enough of it. But I think it is very cool. As long as it is far enough back from the street to prevent it falling on kids or cars i don't see anything wrong with it.
Obviously, Powers needs to make sure there is no danger of anyone getting hurt. But as far as the traffic problem created by Snaowzilla, what is the difference in this and an extravagant Christmas lighting display? None, in my opinion. Go Snowzilla!!
That sure is a sight to see. It's a masterpiece. Unfortunately, if the visiting vehicles clog up the streets to the point of restricting the flow of traffic, it could be an annoyance to the people in the neighborhood. But if there's no problem with the flow of traffic, then there shouldn't be a problem for Mr. Powers to build his snowman.

I think the city needs to tend to their own business and not worry about someones snowman. Just saying.
Sometimes the minority is heard and the majority is ignored. Just saying.
Have a terrific day. :)
It'll look fabulous here in Kuala Lumpur... we desperately need some snow :)
btw, Happy New Year to you Paul.
What? The government ruining someone's good time?
Gee, that never happens ;)
Well, Paul. As long as the neighbor didn't over the boundary and build it in front of my yard, I didn't mind about it...
I wouldn't mind having a giant snowman - my kids would be thrilled. I'd get a chuckle out of it too. As long as no one is in harms way, I think they should leave the guy alone.
Hey, that's what I look like in my white ski jacket.
Seriously, we could be twins!
Wow that is the largest snowman I have ever seen.
I live in a tropical country, so the snow effect forced replaced with cotton.
Merry Christmas to you.
